Definition:
The Director of Operations is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the overall field operations of a business unit throughout a designated geographical area. Duties and responsibilities include formulating processes and best practices, managing daily operations and clinical compliance, and effectively and efficiently planning and executing the use of equipment, materials, and personnel to best meet the needs of customers, facilities, and the community in which it serves.

Responsible for verifying patient demographics and health insurance coverage while ensuring that all documentation necessary for the billing of ambulance transportation claims is obtained promptly from field staff for all billable events. Responsible for effectively communicating with Call Takers, Dispatchers, Dispatch Shift Supervisors, Drivers, EMT’s, Field Supervisors, Director of Operations and other management and support staff to obtain documentation necessary for billing and compliance.

• Audits PCRs to ensure compliance with local medical protocol and works in coordination with Operations Manager and Medical Director to provide educational feedback to field staff.
• Cross references all PCRs with CAD data to ensure that all ambulance runs have appropriate documentation completed and submitted.
• Assigns appropriate billing service levels according to CMS and Corporate Guidelines
• Ensures that all items listed on the DQA Key Data Point Review Sheet are reviewed, present and accurate prior to submission.
• Follows up on any records held in Hold Que’s to address any shortcomings or discrepancies.
• Generates reports as required to assist management team in ensuring quality of field documentation.

Position: Vehicle Supply Technician
 
Definition:
The Vehicle Supply Technician (VST) maintains a dual support role within the vehicle and supply divisions of Maricopa Ambulance. The primary responsibility of the VST is certifying a clean, safe and stocked environment for field operations staff to promote a quick and effective deployment of services. 
 
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates complete knowledge, understanding and compliance of company policies and procedures.
Ensures that ambulance and all equipment is ready for use at the beginning of each shift. This includes but is not limited to appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of the interior and exterior of the vehicle, appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of equipment, completing daily checklists of the vehicle and equipment, inspecting and restocking the vehicle, and performing some routine maintenance.
Ensures security of buildings, vehicles, equipment and all other company property.
Performs daily inspections of base and/or station for cleanliness.
Appropriately and safely delivers the equipment or supplies to the appropriate locations.
Acts at all times with his/her personal safety in mind, as well as the safety of other support staff, EMS personnel, bystanders, and any other public safety personnel present.
Maintains security and privacy of all company and patient information at all times in accordance HIPAA and all other local, state and federal regulations.

Definition:

Responsible for verifying patient demographics and health insurance coverage while ensuring that all documentation necessary for the billing of ambulance transportation claims is obtained promptly from field staff for all billable events. Responsible for effectively communicating with Call Takers, Dispatchers, Dispatch Shift Supervisors, Drivers, EMT’s, Field Supervisors, Director of Operations and other management and support staff to obtain documentation necessary for billing and compliance.

• Thoroughly evaluates all documentation received from Operations personnel (example PCRs, PCSs), Dispatch personnel (example: CAD records, call types, priorities), and external customers (example: insurance and demographic information) and ensure any shortcomings or discrepancies are addressed prior to submitting documentation and information to the billing office.
• Audits PCRs to ensure compliance with local medical protocol and works in coordination with Operations Manager and Medical Director to provide educational feedback to field staff.
• Cross references all PCRs with CAD data to ensure that all ambulance runs have appropriate documentation completed and submitted.
• Assigns appropriate billing service levels according to CMS and Corporate Guidelines
• Ensures that all items listed on the DQA Key Data Point Review Sheet are reviewed, present and accurate prior to submission.
• Follows up on any records held in Hold Que’s to address any shortcomings or discrepancies.
• Generates reports as required to assist management team in ensuring quality of field documentation.
• Contacts healthcare facilities, public safety agencies and insurance companies to obtain additional information for completion of documentation for ambulance runs.
• Ensures the security of all company computer systems by adhering to security procedures and utilizing appropriate passwords policies.
• Always maintains security and privacy of all confidential and proprietary company information in accordance with companypolicy.
• Always maintains security and privacy of all company and patient information in accordance HIPPA and all other local, state, and federal regulations.
• Notifies DQA supervisor or any lapses in documentation resulting in less than full compliance with company and HIPPA standards
